The Turkish company Nadir Metal Refineri was founded in the 20th century by Nadir Tütüncü. Nadir Tütüncü started his business with the processing of jewelry slag, but after 9 years he started refining precious metals. After another 10 years, Nadir founded Nadir Trading and started trading precious metals at the Grand Bazaar.
The strong demand for gold bars, silver bars and gold products forced the young company to invest in capacity and expand its business. Thus, the first gold refinery in Turkey was built. The company Nadir did not stop there and in 1999 a partnership agreement was signed with the German company Degussa Allgemeine. This agreement was signed in exchange for technological know-how.
From 2001 to 2006 the company was called Nadir Allgemeine Ind.Trade.Co.Ltd, but in 2006 Nadir became a joint stock company with the new name "Nadir Metal Rafineri San".
